The subsidiary has 2,400 employees at 58 sites across the country and serves more than 200,000 customers, from artisans to petrochemical manufacturers, from analytical laboratories to semiconductors and metallurgy.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?ALFI is a major player in hydrogen production in the Normandy region; it currently operates two steam methane reforming (SMR) units at the Port-Jérôme and Gonfreville sites, connected by a hydrogen pipeline network. Additionally, ALFI aims to assist its clients in decarbonizing the industry and has invested in hydrogen production capacity through water electrolysis using renewable energy (the Normand’Hy project); this new unit will start in 2026.Missions ResponsibilitiesUntil the end of 2025, the position will be based at the Port-Jérôme or Gonfreville plants and will then be transferred to the Normand’Hy plant in St-Jean de Folleville. After several months of overlap with existing site teams (working hours and/or shifts), the position will shift to a 3x8 schedule.In compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations (once the transfer to Normand’Hy is completed), your main responsibilities will include:Supervising operations from the Remote Control System (SNCC) for the SMRs at Port-Jérôme and Gonfreville.Conducting operations (SNCC supervision and site) for the Normand’Hy electrolysis unit.Contributing to customer satisfaction and industrial efficiency by ensuring the reliability of installations and ensuring their proper functioning (availability, automation, reliability, degraded operation).More specifically, the operational tasks (once the transfer to Normand’Hy is completed) will include:Ensuring site safety and the proper functioning of units.Performing operational rounds to ensure safety, quality, and reliability of supply, in compliance with regulatory requirements and Air Liquide's Industrial Management System.Documenting discrepancies noted during rounds in the digital logbook.Operating production equipment and the pipeline network to meet customer demands while maximizing hydrogen production, in close coordination with the SIO center teams.Participating in the start-up of installations, whether at one of the two SMRs or at Normand’Hy.Responding to production events (alarms, triggers) to diagnose and restart installations, in coordination with local on-call teams, site maintenance, and national experts.Proposing solutions to stabilize, automate, and optimize units, in collaboration with process teams and the SIO center.Carrying out lockout/tagout operations at the Normand’Hy site as requested by maintenance teams.Preparing work permits for the Normand’Hy site according to maintenance team requests and ensuring equipment availability for safe and quality interventions.Conducting production tests at the Normand’Hy site (including safety loop tests).Developing continuous improvement of operational procedures.Fostering close collaboration with various operational teams in the region (operations and maintenance).Participating in site audits.Being familiar with Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers for rapid diagnostics in case of malfunction.Actively participating in team meetings.Keeping technical files, diagrams, and equipment plans up to date related to your area of expertise.ParticularitiesThe Normand’Hy plant is set to start in 2026, and your position will evolve as follows:Until Summer 2026: Your workload will be shared between (i) supervising the two SMRs at Port-Jérôme and Gonfreville and (ii) starting up the Normand’Hy unit, closely working with the Air Liquide Engineering division and various suppliers. During this phase, you will also contribute to preparing the operational phase of the Normand’Hy plant (creating operational standards for the plant, ensuring compliance with Air Liquide's Industrial Management System). To accelerate your familiarization with the technical and organizational environment of Air Liquide, you may undertake missions in other similar plants in start-up across France and Europe.After Summer 2026: You will be responsible for the operation of the three units, in position.The position requires shift work for periods of 8 hours. In the initial years of operation, the unit will gradually be stabilized and automated, allowing operational teams to potentially transition to a standby mode.Are you a MATCH?BAC + 2 technical degree, ideally BTS CIRA.You have at least 5 years of operational experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry, preferably as a console operator.You have experience in one of the following areas: high/low voltage electricity, instrumentation, process control, rotating machinery management (screw/piston compressors), industrial water treatment, risk management, and personnel safety.You are proficient in reading technical documents (PFD, PID, IP, and other documents related to your area of expertise).Experience in starting up industrial units is a plus.You prioritize safety and have a team spirit.You are both a hands-on person and comfortable with IT and office tools.You speak English, allowing you to communicate with equipment suppliers, especially during the start-up phase of the unit.Location: Port-Jérôme then Normand’Hy (Saint-Jean de Folleville)To minimize commuting time, you must live within 45 minutes of the Normand’Hy site (Saint-Jean de Folleville).Our Differences make our PerformanceAt Air Liquide, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, customers, patients, community stakeholders, and cultures across the world.We welcome and consider applications from all qualified applicants, regardless of their background.
