Purpose

  • As an Accountant with a tax emphasis, you will act as a business partner for your scope of responsibility. You will support your stakeholders in achieving operational efficiency and maintain compliance with laws, regulations and standards, ensuring reliable financial reporting. This role requires the ability to navigate Swiss tax frameworks.
  • You plan and execute your activities proactively, accurately and in alignment with management and the relevant expertise departments. You ensure a strong alignment with SBM’s Values. You design, apply and uphold SBM’s policies and procedures with a high degree of customer focus and confidentiality.
  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Swiss Accounting Manager, you take ownership of the following responsibilities:

    • Execute month-end, quarter-end and year-end Group closings; 
    • Complete accounts reconciliation in accordance with Group policy, investigate any difference and drive corrective actions with stakeholders; • Prepare advance payments to tax authorities;
    • Perform tax return preparation with associated actions (corrections of provisions and advance payments);
    • Ensure proper allocation and justification of tax balances;
    • Prepare withholding tax and stamp duty declarations;
    • Contribute to tax analysis;
    • Prepare/contribute to statutory financial statements in accordance with Swiss Code of Obligations;
    • Support group and statutory audit process;
    • Participate in the implementation of the new ERP system change planned in 2026;
    • Maintain and strengthen the internal control environmen 

    Education

  • "Brevet fédéral de spécialiste en finance et comptabilité" or equivalent education;
  • Experience

  • Significant experience (at least 3 years) in the accounting department of an international company;
  • Experience with tax returns preparation; 
  • Experience preparing statutory financial statements under Swiss Code of Obligations.
