The Synthetics Services team plays a foundational role in enabling these capabilities. Our team designs and operates critical backend services that handle test propagation, scheduling, private location endpoints, alerting mechanisms, and test management. We ensure these systems are performant, reliable, and scalable to meet the needs of engineering teams worldwide.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our distributed, product-driven team. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to design and build backend systems that underpin the Synthetics platform while driving its evolution to better serve our users.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and build distributed backend systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product managers to define solutions that meet user needs and align with business goals.
• Operate and enhance backend services responsible for test propagation, scheduling, and alerting mechanisms.
• Develop and optimize tooling to help our team and users manage and scale Synthetics services.
• Diagnose and address reliability bottlenecks and implement systems to prevent outages.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code primarily in Python and Go, with occasional use of Java.

Who You Are:

• You have extensive experience building and maintaining distributed backend systems.
• You have a strong product mindset and enjoy collaborating with product managers to build user-focused solutions.
• You are comfortable coding in Python and Go and are open to working with other languages as needed.
• You are a strong communicator who can work effectively in a distributed team (NYC, Paris, Remote).
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving challenging technical problems.
• Bonus points: experience with Kubernetes.
• Bonus points: knowledge of CI/CD systems or cloud infrastructure.
