For more than 50 years, Ansys software has enabled innovators across industries to push boundaries by using the predictive power of simulation.Summary / Role PurposeThe Senior RD Engineer contributes to the development of SPDM software (such as Minerva) and next generation technologies and products. In this role, the RD Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining functionality related to Simulation Process Data Management in an agile environment. Experience in computer science and/or computer engineering is required. ANSYS Minerva is one of the newest and fastest growing SPDM products in the market.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.Understand and employ best practices.Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.Perform complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience and software with latest tools and related products.Employ best practices and help to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring.Work independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities.Work under the general supervision of a development manager.Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and ExperienceBS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields with 5 - 7 years' experience, or 3– 5 years of experience with an advanced degree or specific relevant experience.Working experience within technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects. Good understanding and skills in object-oriented programming.Experience with NodeJS platform.Preferred Qualifications and SkillsPassion for crafting robust and efficient code.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team.Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment.Experience in using or developing client server or cloud-based software.Understanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domain.Docker, Linux and HPC experience are desirable.INCLUSION IS AT OUR COREWe believe diverse thinking leads to better outcomes.
