ph3IRIS2 Satellite Constellation Project /h3pIRIS2 is the European Union's secure satellite constellation aiming to provide high‑speed internet broadband and enhanced communication capacities to EU Member States, governmental users, private companies, and European citizens while addressing connectivity dead zones. /ppSES, together with other consortium partners and core members selected by the European Commission, builds and operates the IRIS2 multi‑orbit satellite constellation. The IRIS2 team enters the next project phase and requires support for all activities around service provisioning and the products the system can offer in the future. /ph3ROLE DESCRIPTION /h3pYou will be part of an agile project organization requiring a flexible way of working and an adaptive mindset. Your responsibilities include guiding the strategic allocation of satellite resources in government and commercial contexts, developing and implementing performance metrics (KPIs) for IRIS2 services, and ensuring that resource utilization and service performance reflect stakeholder expectations. /ph3Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive) /h3ullibCapacity Plan Development /bulliLead the update of the Capacity Plan, defining resource assignments for stakeholders involved in IRIS2 capacity allocation. /liliEstablish governance policies for government capacity usage, including arbitration, prioritization, and usage restrictions where necessary. /liliCollaborate with satellite operators, engineering teams, and commercial stakeholders to align resource distribution with contractual and regulatory requirements. /li /ul /lilibService Performance KPI Framework /bulliDevelop the Service Performance KPI document for IRIS2 with relevant stakeholders (technical teams, commercial partners, and governmental bodies). /liliDefine clear, measurable KPIs for multiple IRIS2 services, outlining data collection, measurement frequency, and reporting mechanisms. /liliSet target values for each KPI, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. /li /ul /lilibCross‑Functional Collaboration /bulliEngage internal and external stakeholders—such as System Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Customer representatives—to gather requirements and integrate feedback. /liliFacilitate workshops and meetings to refine allocation strategies, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus on key decisions. /liliServe as liaison between technical experts and commercial or governmental stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable plans. /li /ul /lilibStrategic Planning and Execution /bulliDevelop and maintain a long‑term vision for IRIS2 services and capacity optimization, balancing current demands with future capacity expansions and innovations. /liliRecommend continuous improvements to resource allocation policies, prioritization rules, and KPI metrics based on data‑driven insights and emerging market requirements. /liliDevelop contingency planning scenarios in coordination with relevant technical and commercial stakeholders. /liliMonitor ongoing capacity usage and performance metrics, proposing adjustments to the utilization plan or KPI targets as necessary. /li /ul /lilibDocumentation and Reporting /bulliProduce clear, comprehensive documentation (Utilization Plan, KPI frameworks, periodic reports) understandable by both technical and non‑technical audiences. /liliProvide regular status updates to senior leadership and relevant committees, highlighting potential risks, mitigation strategies, and performance trends. /li /ul /li /ulh3YOUR PROFILE /h3pbMust have /b /pulliEngineering bachelor’s degree or demonstrable equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications. /liliMinimum 5 years professional experience in capacity management and/or optimization of satellite utilization. /liliTechnical knowledge of platform technologies, satellite technology, satellite network operations, and earth stations is a plus. /liliGood understanding of CRM and financial tools is a plus. /liliStrong computer literacy. /liliProgramming skills in Java, Python, R, Excel/VBA, and/or MATLAB is a plus. /liliExperience with PowerBI is a plus. /liliFluency in English (other languages are an asset). /liliEligibility for ESA/EU SECRET personnel security clearances is essential.
