With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 GWh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.In joining us, you will actively participate in this breathtaking industrial adventure to shape the future of European mobility.About this role:We are currently looking for a SCADA Engineer to join our Process Development team based in our gigafactory near Dunkirk, north of France.As such, you will lead on the SCADA system that controls and monitors the Formation process—the final step in the battery manufacturing process.The role will take full ownership of the project from designing the SCADA at Verkor's Gigafactory, following the software development phase, implementation/testing at the Gigafactory, and finally training and technical support.You will be embracing the objective of building and structuring Verkor as the most advanced battery manufacturing company in the world.Responsibilities:Collaborate closely with external SCADA system vendors during the design review process, ensuring alignment with factory requirements and standards.Work with the SCADA vendor to define and configure control strategies, including route planning, recipe management, and data collection, to optimize battery production efficiency.Oversee the software development and integration process, ensuring timely and efficient implementation of SCADA systems.Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues, including hardware and software components, in coordination with the external vendor to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.Be on-site at the factory to lead validation and testing activities for the SCADA systems, working closely with the factory teams.Provide comprehensive training to production and maintenance teams on the use and maintenance of SCADA systems to ensure efficient utilization.Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system specifications, operating procedures, and change control records.Participate in the continuous improvement of SCADA systems and keep up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.At least 3 years of experience as a SCADA engineer in an industrial setting, preferably in battery manufacturing or a similar process-intensive environment.Proficiency in SCADA software, including but not limited to Wonderware, Ignition, or Siemens WinCC.Strong knowledge of PLC programming and configuration, especially with Allen-Bradley or Siemens controllers.Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and Ethernet/IP.Ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for diagnosing and resolving SCADA system issues.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with external SCADA system vendors, cross-functional teams, and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Certification in SCADA-related technologies or industrial automation is a plus.Why join us?Strong company spirit and culture settle down around our 4 values:ContributionWe promote personal initiative and give everyone the means to contribute to the company's success.CommunicationWe're committed to transparent communication: we say what we think, and we mean what we say.Team SpiritEveryone, in their role, is an ambassador for the company.
