Procurement Specialist - Ohio, United States - 12 Months ContractThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.Responsibilities:Develop and execute procurement strategies for capital equipment to support pharmaceutical manufacturing and facility expansion projects.Source and negotiate with capital equipment suppliers, ensuring adherence to GMP and regulatory standards.Ensure all technical, financial, and legal aspects of equipment procurement are reviewed and approved before contract execution.Drive coordination between engineering firms (AE firms), construction managers (CMs), and equipment vendors to meet project schedules.Oversee purchase order (PO) management, logistics coordination, and supplier performance tracking for capital equipment.Ensure all procurement solutions meet technical requirements and follow best ethical practices for commercial tenders.Prepare and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring costs are minimized and risks are effectively managed.Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and suppliers during contract development, negotiation, and execution.Monitor contract compliance, resolving any discrepancies and ensuring contractual entitlements are properly administered.Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with project quality and safety standards.Support capital equipment installation planning in collaboration with engineering and site operations.Work with project controls and finance teams to ensure CAPEX procurement activities align with budget and time-line requirements.Attend project job sites at least 3 full days per week when required to oversee capital equipment deliveries and supplier coordination.Maintain compliance with global procurement policies, ensuring procurement processes align with corporate and industry best practices.Use e-procurement tools to streamline sourcing, contract administration, and supplier engagement.Ensure legal, quality, health safety, ethical, and environmental standards are maintained and developed throughout procurement activities.Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Extensive experience in CAPEX procurement, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.Proven experience sourcing capital equipment for large capital projects ($500M+) in a regulated environment.Strong experience in contract negotiations, supplier management, and capital project execution.Project management skills with the ability to align procurement activities with construction, engineering, and operational time-lines.Strong understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical capital equipment procurement.Familiarity with logistics, warehousing, and installation coordination for capital projects.Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, project controls, automation, and finance.PMP or Supply Chain certification (e.g., CPSM, PMP, Six Sigma).Experience working with pharmaceutical aseptic filling, device assembly, or API manufacturing capital equipment.Strong working knowledge of SAP, Ariba, or other e-procurement tools.Prior experience supporting EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) contracts for large capital projects.If this role is of interest, please apply now! #J-18808-Ljbffr
