Position Title: Pavilion Process Engineer Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: VilleneuvedAscq 2020 Grade: Grade 04 Requisition ID: 28437 We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to lead the rollout of Model Predictive Control (MPC) systems in our food processing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing MPC solutions to enhance production efficiency and product quality. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate MPC technology into our existing processes. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: MPC Implementation and Optimization: Design and implement MPC strategies for various production processes. Optimize existing control systems and processes using MPC techniques. Collaborate with different departments for the integration of MPC software and hardware. Process Analysis and Improvement: Develop and maintain process models for use in MPC applications. Project Management: Lead MPC projects from conception through to completion, including conducting plant test runs. Coordinate with different departments, including production, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure smooth implementation. Training and Support: Provide training and support to plant personnel on MPC operations and best practices. Develop user manuals and training materials for MPC systems. Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of MPC systems. Propose and implement upgrades and improvements. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or advanced training in control systems or process automation is a plus. Experience: 5-10 years in digital manufacturing or related fields, with a proven track record in implementing projects. Experience in automation or MPC in a manufacturing or processing environment, preferably in the food industry. Good understanding of process control principles and advanced control strategies. Skills and Competencies: Technical Skills: Experience with regulation loops, control system software and hardware. Knowledge of food processing technologies. Relevant certifications in project management, Six Sigma, or specific digital technologies are beneficial. Business Acumen: Strong manufacturing and automation understanding. Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Excellent time management and organizational abilities. Communication Skills: Strong English verbal and written communication skills. Ability to train and guide team members. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage complex projects. Change Management: Act as a change agent through coaching on new improved processes to develop capability across multiple audiences (Operators, Supervisors, Managers, etc).
