They will work with a high degree of autonomy and be able to provide guidance and recommendations to Administrators and Support Specialists on escalated support issues, deployment, configuration changes, and maintenance. This role will work with others to plan, execute, and deliver projects, roadmaps, confirm security compliance, assure systems align with IT strategies, test and deploy codes, research and write technical reports, and meet departmental targets and PBS goals.Principal Responsibilities:Plan, design, build, deploy and support scalable networks, systems and security strategiesCollaborate with Engineers, Administrators and Support Specialist to run, support, secure and monitor on-prem, cloud and remote networksConsult on multiple cross-functional networking projects and applicationsEnsuring that information systems and assets are monitored to identify networking events and verify the effectiveness of protective measuresEnsuring response activities are coordinated with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., external support from service providers)Ensuring activities are performed to prevent expansion of a networking event, mitigate its effects, and resolve the incidentEnsuring response processes and procedures are executed and maintained, to ensure response to detected networking incidentsIdentify, review, evaluate and validate networking standards; technical requirements, gaps and issues, and communicate proposed and custom solutions to existing architectureAdditional activities as necessary to support the overall Networking and PBS missionOperational Responsibilities:Research, implement and consult on capacity planning models, NexGen and redundancy solutionsCreate plans and procedures to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve escalated support problemsContribute to Change and Incident Management, problem escalation and work processesEvaluate networks, review and analyze migration strategies, and document codes and scriptsProvide recommendations to deploy, migrate and support network monitoring toolsConduct reviews, evaluate and provide recommendations on vendor servicesPerform research, create documentation and write reportsSecurity Operations Responsibilities:Investigate security issues and risks, resolve and report security vulnerabilities to Cyber SecurityCreate and document network / security policies and baselinesRecommend and implement appropriate up-to-date security technologies, network segmentation and access control, and End-Point security solutionsAssist with planning, developing and reviewing security requirements and proceduresIdentify security audit discrepancies to implement corrective and preventive measuresRequirements for Success:Experience Requirement:Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a systems engineer or administratorMinimum of 4 years’ experience working as a network engineer or administratorMinimum of 5 years’ networking and security operations experienceEducation and/or Certification Requirement:Cisco CCNP/CCDP, or Fortinet FCP, or equivalent requiredCertifications equivalent to the Cisco CCIE/CCDE, or Fortinet equivalent, desiredSuccessful completion of Cisco or Fortinet, or its equivalent in routing, switching, and firewall managementBachelor’s Degree in a related field such as networking, cybersecurity, information technology, or computer science;
