The role:You will work on a variety of tanker types, rigid and artic, and will be involved in all aspects of the tanker. For remounting, this would include fabricating new trailer chassis’, mounting barrels, piping up the new vehicles, fitting equipment to the tankers and fabricating new cabinets etc. You will often work on a project from start to finish, completing a good variety of work, there will be training given where required.When repairing tankers, you will tackle a variety of tasks each day and therefore need to know a wide range of tanker applications and have a wide range of skills that are required to perform the repairs/modifications, including welding, hydraulics and pneumatics.Responsibilities:Experience in as many of the below disciplines as possible, particularly to road tankers (rigid and/or artic):Remounting tanker barrels onto new truck chassis or trailer bogieRoad tanker barrel and ancillary equipment maintenance, repairs and modificationsWelding (TIG & MIG in aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel)Fabricating and using fabrication machineryRunning gear - installation and maintenanceHGV body buildingVehicle pneumatics, hydraulics and electricsVehicle hydraulicsKnowledge of current vehicle and tanker legislation, including ADRTruck repairsDonkey enginesWhilst the above outlines the main duties of the post this list is not exhaustive, and duties may need to change in light of future developments or from time to time as directed by your supervisor or manager.Qualifications & skills:High level of enthusiasmGood communication skills Be committed to our site Health and Safety policies and adhere to these at all timesFull UK driving licenceTake pride in a high quality finishGood administration skills and timely completion of paperworkBasic ability to use computers and IT applicationsHave a customer centric mind set and high level of professionalismGood organisational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloadsAble to work to competitive deadlines and working to set hoursInitiative to work on your own if requiredShow respect to all staff at all levels in the businessBenefits we offerCompany pensionPrivate healthcare25 days holiday plus bank holidaysGenerous referral programmeLife assuranceAnd many more!
