Your Work Environment

At the headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA), you will work within the Group Legal department, which comprises four teams: Insurance, Reinsurance & Strategic Projects; M&A; Corporate Governance; Corporate Finance. You will be part of the Insurance, Reinsurance & Strategic Projects Team focusing on the Reinsurance section.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual review of AXA Group’s standard Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life & Health reinsurance terms and conditions in close collaboration with internal and external contributors.
• Draft and negotiate standard P&C and Life reinsurance terms and conditions for the AXA Group (in English).
• Negotiate closely with the risk management department and set up the contractual framework related to financial securities of reinsurers: Letter of Credit, Deposit, Pledge, under various applicable laws.
• Advise the reinsurance department and the claims department on any legal issue related to specific reinsurance terms.
• Ensure compliance with the laws and regulations of the registering countries.
• Implement and/or review procedures related to the missions.
• Present internally the important points related to the missions.

Additional Responsibilities

• Guarantee the legal security and the permanent improvement of the AXA Group’s general conditions of reinsurance P&C and Life & Health by collecting, analyzing, and contractually editing suggestions for improvement.
• Negotiate annually standard P&C and Life & Health reinsurance terms and conditions for the AXA Group with reinsurers.
• Ensure AXA’s compliance with the laws and regulations of the countries where the ceding companies are registered to carry out its reinsurance or brokerage activities.
• Contribute to the legal security of specific reinsurance conditions by advising the reinsurance department upon request during negotiations with reinsurers.
• Contribute to proper handling of reinsurance claims by advising the claims department upon request during negotiations with reinsurers.
• Establish or review procedures related to your missions.
• Present internally (reinsurance department, committees, etc.) the results obtained within your missions.

Your Profile

• Solid expertise in French insurance and contract law.
• Fluency in English (B2/C1).
• Autonomous negotiation and drafting skills in English and French on complex legal subjects with interlocutors from different legal cultures.
• Initiative and proposal‑making skills, a strong teamwork spirit, and a sense of rigor and organization in work according to priorities.
• Studied law in France, preferably with a specialization in insurance law, and at least 4 years of international experience in a legal function in insurance or reinsurance.
