Based in Sophia Antipolis, France, Pulse Audition is a fresh start-up like team within EssilorLuxottica. The team consists of experts in AI, Audio Signal processing, Audiology, Hardware and Software who are working together to developp cutting-edge technologies to be integrated into smart eyewear products, to improve the social inclusion of people suffering from hearing loss. 

Based in Sophia Antipolis, France, Pulse Audition is a young startup-like team within EssilorLuxottica. The team consists of experts in artificial intelligence, audio signal processing, audiology, hardware, and software who are working together to develop cutting-edge technologies to be integrated into smart eyewear products, to improve the social inclusion of people suffering from hearing loss.

Your role

We are looking for an AI&DSP Engineer who will be responsible for researching and developing AI and DSP based audio and speech processing algorithms from concept to product integration for assistive hearing applications. ​


Main responsibilities:

  • Research, prototype, evaluate and adapt novel hybrid AI&DSP algorithms for real-time embedded audio and speech processing applications,
  • Optimize and productize hybrid AI&DSP algorithms designed for embedded deployment.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers and Embedded AI Engineers to deploy pre-trained models on wearable audio devices.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in audio machine learning and DSP research literature.
  • Main requirements:

  • BS, or MS. or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in audio AI research and/or DSP development.
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing theory (e.g., filtering, Fourier transforms, modulation, and noise reduction), machine learning, linear algebra and statistics.
  • Background in AI research, experience with audio-related models, and experience in algorithm optimization techniques for on-device implementation
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python for algorithm development.
  • Experience in designing algorithms such as speech enhancement, feedback suppression, beamforming, etc. is a strong bonus.
  • Understanding of how end-to-end audio systems work including transducers, audio ICs, acoustics, embedded DSPs, etc. is a strong bonus.
