The subsidiary has 2,400 employees at 58 sites across the country and serves more than 200,000 customers, from the artisan to petrochemical manufacturers, from analytical laboratories to semiconductors and metallurgy.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?At our renewable hydrogen production site Normand’Hy in Saint-Jean de Folleville, your main missions will be as follows:Contribute to customer satisfaction and industrial efficiency by ensuring the proper functioning of installations (process safety, reliability, availability, automation, optimization).Train and ensure the qualification of teams on the Normand’Hy process.Provide your process expertise to support the operations and startup team.Be the guarantor of the application of Air Liquide's technical standards and the implementation of important safety elements.Initially, your role will be:To ensure and coordinate theoretical training in the classroom and practical training on-site for the site teams on the Normand’Hy process.To verify the implementation of the specifications and process standards of the Group in terms of safety, reliability, and operational optimization.To prepare the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) in your area of expertise (startup, shutdown, process, and process control).During the production startup of the unit and during operation, you will need to:Contribute to the continuous improvement of site performance (reliability, availability, efficiency). You will be responsible for the robustness and optimization of the regulation strategy and the unit's performance. For this, you must be familiar with Digital Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).Ensure the safety of the process operation and participate in updating process safety documents (ARA i.e., Accident Risks Analysis, HAZOP, Process Safety Visits, process safety feedback).Actively participate in the analysis of production events (alarms, triggers, incidents) and in resolving technical problems (deployment of corrective and preventive actions).Acquire and provide your process expertise to the Normand’hy teams as well as to requests from internal or external clients, and participate in audits.Write MOCs (Management of Change) and validate SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).Provide continuous technical support to the site team during operation and participate in startup phases to optimize (time and risk reduction), write startup reports and feedback reports, update SOPs to capitalize and improve industrial practices during transitional phases.Develop your network to establish close collaboration with other operating technicians, local maintenance teams at the Normand’Hy site, other process engineers in the Normandy basin, and experts from the Industrial Management and the Remote Optimization Center (SIO).ParticularitiesThe Normand’Hy plant is set to start in 2026, and your position will evolve as follows:Before the Industrial Commissioning date: you will be responsible for training the operations team, verifying the implementation of specifications, Group process standards, ensuring the establishment of Important Safety Elements (EIS), writing MOCs and SOPs in your area of expertise (startup, shutdown, process, and process control). During this phase, you will also be involved in monitoring the startup activities of the unit, closely linked with the Group's Engineering division. To accelerate your familiarization with the technical and organizational environment of the Group, you may undertake missions in other similar plants under startup in France and abroad.After the Industrial Commissioning date: you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of the training level of the team, compliance with specifications and Group process standards, and the missions listed above (performance optimization, continuous improvement, etc.).The position is during the day with the possibility of being on-call. During the unit's startups, you may be required to work in shifts for 8-hour periods to support the operating teams on duty.Are you a MATCH?Engineer or equivalent:You have at least 5 years of experience in process optimization in the chemical/petrochemical industry.You prioritize safety, teamwork, and you are a good pedagogue.You are both a field person and comfortable with control tools such as PLC and DCS.You have been responsible for monitoring and implementing operational and safety standards.You are autonomous and have analytical skills to identify problems and implement an action plan.You have experience in risk analysis methodology: HAZOP, ARA (Accident Risks Analysis), LOPA.You are comfortable using simulation tools and Data Science.You speak English to consult engineering documents and communicate with representatives of various equipment suppliers, other process engineers, and experts from the subsidiary and the SWE (South West Europe) Cluster.Knowledge or experience in water electrolysis and/or the SMR (Steam Methane Reformer) process is a plus.Experience in the startup of industrial units is a plus.Geographic location: Saint-Jean de Folleville.To limit travel time, you must live within 30 minutes of the Normand’Hy site.Hierarchical supervisor: Future site manager of Normand’Hy.HR Manager: Corentin CHEVALET.National collective agreement: Chemistry.Status: Engineer.Our Differences make our PerformanceAt Air Liquide, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, customers, patients, community stakeholders, and cultures across the world.We welcome and consider applications from all qualified applicants, regardless of their background.
