With this post, we're looking to reach out to individuals interested in volunteering and grow our volunteer community. Which organisation will you be supporting? Great Ideas Network is an open-source community of inventors, business founders, prototypers, venture capitalists, investors, and industry experts that believe that anyone, anywhere can build solutions to solve real problems, to make the World a better place! They connect startups who need support with experts who want to help. What do they want to achieve? A list of new features ideas Monetization strategies that can be trialled What do they need help with? Matthew Stedman from the Great Ideas Network is looking to build a self improvement social network. He needs feature ideas and brainstorming for a self-improvement social network. He feels that social networks ultimately make people lazier and lonelier, and no one is really leveraging social pressure and social motivation for good. He'd like to capture the idea of "a fitness circle" for example and have strangers aiming for similar goals to work together (even remotely) on self-improvment. He doesn't know what features are really needed as he wants this to be a for-profit that is scalable and sustainable, and needs help coming up with monetization approaches. What do they have in place? He has a few key features in mind. It will have quite common social-media functionalities such as chats, walls to post on, and groups (though he doesn't want to make it "better" than Facebook/Instagram because it's not a competitor in terms of features, but only in terms of time/focus). He also have a few niche ideas such as the concept of "circles" - i.e. you'd be in a small fitness circle, made up of a few select friends and maybe one or two in-need strangers. And maybe some social, or even financial, accountability to keep people aligned with their goals. Time Commitment This role requires a time commitment of 1 hour.
