Join a critical national defense program based in Toulouse. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Embedded Linux Engineer to take full ownership of the development ("Build") and operational stability ("Run") of secure, custom Linux systems deployed on dedicated hardware. You will be working in a classified environment on technologies essential to national security.

Key Responsibilities ("Build & Run")

• Build: Design, configure, and build custom embedded Linux distributions from source using tools like the Yocto Project or Buildroot for specific hardware targets.

• Build: Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSP), customize the Linux kernel, and integrate bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot).

• Build: Cross-compile software and create minimal, secure root filesystems optimized for constrained hardware environments.

• Run: Ensure the long-term stability, performance, and security of deployed systems in the field.

• Run: Perform low-level debugging, system optimization, and security hardening (addressing CVEs, implementing secure boot).

• Run: Write and maintain system-level software and scripts (in C, C++, Python, Bash) for device management and diagnostics.

Required Candidate Profile

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on professional experience in embedded Linux engineering.

• Core Technical Skills:

  • Proven expertise in building custom Linux systems with Yocto Project or Buildroot.

  • Strong experience in Linux kernel configuration, drivers, and patching.

  • Proficient in C/C++ for system-level programming.

  • Solid understanding of hardware interfaces and low-level debugging (JTAG, UART, etc.).

• Critical Requirement: All applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a French national security clearance, as defined by French law and the granting authority.

• Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to work full-time on-site in Toulouse under a French employment contract (no freelance arrangements).
