The St. Irene Catholic Church Director of Faith Formation is responsible for the parish’s faith formation program from Baptismal catechesis through adult formation. This position will work closely with the pastor to direct the faith formation of children and adults, giving direction to catechesis of the entire parish and vision to evangelization considering the Diocesan focus on missionary discipleship. Serving as a role model for the parish, the Director of Faith Formation will be a joyful disciple of Jesus Christ, passionate about the Catholic Faith and about living out the Gospel message with intention. The Director must be a creative and energetic individual with excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, and be a pastoral visionary.

Requirements:

1. Experience in parish ministry is required.
2. A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Education, Theology, Divinity, Religious Studies, or related field.
3. Must be in compliance with the Safe Environment Program of the Diocese of Joliet.
4. Since this is a ministerial position, the candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing. This includes knowledge, profession, and actions consistent with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
5. Must uphold the mission, philosophy, objectives, and policies of the Diocese of Joliet.
