As a pioneer in sustainable animal breeding and genetics company, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team in The Netherlands or France. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing, troubleshooting, and deploying applications and systems on HG’s cloud computing environment, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and other public cloud platforms. This role demands expertise in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and hybrid computing environments.You will work closely with the architecture team and Software Engineers to define and implement standards for designing, building, testing, and deploying cloud-based applications. Additionally, you will automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling processes, ensuring high availability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.What are your main tasks and responsibilities?Maintain and develop AVD and Intune profiles in line with business requirementsDevelop and manage cloud infrastructure and configurations as code using tools like TerraformBuild workload-specific infrastructure environments in Azure with a focus on high availability, disaster recovery, security, and monitoringMaintain, monitor, and support platform services and environments to ensure performance and uptimeDiagnose and resolve complex systems, software, and connectivity issuesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirementsAutomate processes through scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices to improve cost efficiency and operational excellenceIntegrate cloud solutions with other platforms and applicationsDevelop alerts, monitoring techniques, and health-check solutions to proactively address potential issuesCommunicate incidents, resolutions, and updates to stakeholders, IT teams, and leadershipEnsure adherence to processes such as backups, maintenance schedules, and operational standardsDo you have the following requirements?Hands-on experience with IntuneHands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft AzureProficiency in automation tools like Terraform or similar technologiesExpertise in deploying and managing IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud environmentsStrong scripting skills for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or similar)Experience with monitoring, diagnostics, and alerting toolsUnderstanding of best practices for disaster recovery, security, and high availability in cloud environmentsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issuesExcellent communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders effectivelyAdditional preferred qualificationsFamiliarity with additional public cloud providersExperience in developing cost-efficient solutions in cloud environmentsKnowledge of DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelinesAbout UsHendrix Genetics is a multi-species animal breeding, genetics and technology company that is passionate about animal breeding and our customers.
