Business Developer Off-Trade (M/F) – Brugal

POSITION SUMMARY
Brugal has reached a pivotal moment of growth and has set an ambitious vision to become the no.1 ultra-premium Rum by 2030. France is the second largest ultra-premium rum market in the world and so will play a critical role in delivering against our global vision.
The off-trade business developer is a dedicated and passionate brand champion, embodying the essence of the brand. Brugal is a new entrant to the French market with limited awareness and so the off-trade business developer will be spearheading building brand awareness, presence, visibility, and driving rotation of Brugal in off-trade channel. We are looking for a self-starter, someone who is highly driven to succeed, and enjoys going the extra mile to achieve results and rewards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Connect with trade and consumers by powerfully sharing Brugal’s story
- Lead immersive education sessions with distributor partner and direct wine shop accounts
- Actively identify and implement opportunities with wine shops to educate and enlighten on Brugal rum (I,e masterclasses/ tastings)
- Actively identify and implement impactful and distinctive activations around the brand to drive rotation
- Manage activation budget, planning spend and evaluating return on investment
- Close collaboration with our off-trade team.
- Support the Distributor's sales force in resale.
- Enhance commercial relationships with wine shops to ensure they recommend our products.
- Develop targeted activations to increase the turnover rate of our products at targeted wine shops.
- Collect and analyse data (sales, cocktail performance, etc.) to inform future listing and activation opportunities, maintaining a database to better understand each Paris client to track progress
- Identify new high potential clients and build programme to unlock listing and drive rotation
- Prospect a predefined list of accounts, building a strong network of loyal customers for Brugal 1888 in Paris
REPORTING AND MANAGEMENTThe Business Developer will report to the lead of Brugal France at Edrington France and work cooperatively with the Distributor's sales teams. Rigorous reporting (number of visits, training sessions, activations, tastings, client and consumer feedback, etc.) will be required monthly, along with regular exchanges with the Customer Marketing and Sales teams.
A competitive analysis will also be requested to monitor and inform about new developments, gift offers, and competitor activations.
SCOPE⇨ Full-time position with representation work on certain Saturdays (50%).
⇨ Position based in Paris.
⇨ Field orientation, developing new distribution (ND) within a list of identified accounts in Paris.
QUALIFICATIONS⇨ Strong knowledge of the wine shop network.
⇨ Passion and expertise in the spirits industry.
⇨ Expertise in the rum category is a plus.
⇨ Proactive, autonomous, and a source of proposals.
⇨ Excellent relationship skills with both consumers and clients.
⇨ Strong public speaking skills.
⇨ Ability to work across teams and collaborate with sales teams.
⇨ Commercial sense.
⇨ Rigorous and reliable reporting skills.
⇨ English proficiency preferred.
⇨ Proficiency in Windows tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is mandatory.
⇨ Mastery of tools to develop activity with a client list.
⇨ Hunger for success.
⇨ Detective mindset: asking questions to understand client needs.
⇨ Boldness and creativity: able to formulate solutions and think outside the box.
